Apocalypse Rising 2 Weapons List

Browse Apocalypse Rising 2 weapon classes and the fields needed to verify ammo, fire mode, attachments, source, availability, and current stats.

What belongs in the list

The official experience advertises more than 100 firearms and melee weapons. A reliable list should identify each item without pretending all stats and spawns are permanent. Use the live item name, class, ammunition family, feed type, shown fire modes, compatible attachment slots, inventory size, source type, map/event scope, availability, and last checked date.

Damage, recoil, velocity, capacity, and rarity need current UI evidence or a repeatable test. Leave them blank when unknown. A complete-looking table with inherited numbers is less useful than a smaller verified index.

Class lookup

HandgunsCompact backups and early-life tools; verify cartridge, magazine, and reload support.
Submachine gunsClose-range volume with ammunition and control tradeoffs.
Rifles and carbinesGeneral-purpose or specialist roles across several cartridge families.
ShotgunsClose-range choices with shell, loading, and exposure decisions.
Precision riflesLonger sightline tools requiring position, optic, and follow-up planning.
Machine gunsSustained-fire roles balanced by handling, inventory, or scarcity.
MeleeQuiet infected clearing and ammunition conservation when the approach is safe.
Special or eventWeapons whose acquisition depends on a unique, random, or dated source.

These categories help answer a role question; they do not establish which individual gun is strongest.

Inspect a weapon safely

Move to cover before opening inventory. Read the exact weapon name and ammunition label. Confirm whether it uses a detachable magazine or internal loading in the current interface. Check loaded state, fire mode, sight, and attachment controls. Do not fire a test shot near a populated landmark unless you are prepared for attention.

Compare it with the current weapon. Ask whether you have supported reserves, whether its range matches the next route, whether you can use its sight, and whether its storage cost forces you to abandon healing or food. A weapon is not an upgrade merely because its name is less common.

Ammunition families

Current community catalogs group ammunition into families including .45 ACP, 9mm Parabellum, 9mm Soviet, .357, .44, 12 gauge, 5.56 NATO, 5.45 Soviet, 7.62 Soviet, 7.62 NATO, 7.62 Rimmed, .30-06, and .30 Carbine, plus rarer cartridges. Confirm compatibility in game; similar numbers or names do not make rounds interchangeable.

The August 2026 update changed transfers, unloading, spreading ammunition, and internal-magazine workflows while removing older loading tools. Use the Ammo Guide instead of an old tool-based tutorial.

Source and availability

Classify the observed source as ordinary ground/container, military or specialist area, unique infected, random event, seasonal event, store/pack, or unknown. A historical official changelog can confirm that a weapon was added during an event without proving it remains obtainable.

Use current, event-limited, expired, legacy, or unverified-after-update status. Connect map scope through Map and time-limited sources through Events. Never publish a precise spawn rate from a few sightings.

Compare weapons by task

For a first life, value ammunition access, simple handling, compact storage, and replacement cost. For close PvP, consider sight acquisition, controllability, reload exposure, and movement. For open routes, consider target visibility, follow-up shots, supported optic, and cover. For infected, consider noise and ammunition efficiency.

Record conditions before ranking. The Best Guns guide offers a scorecard that makes subjective choices explicit rather than hiding them in a universal tier.

Maintain a verified record

Recheck an entry after a major weapons, ammunition, attachment, map, or event update. Save the build date, map, item panel text, and source evidence. When two community tables disagree, keep the stable identity fields and mark the disputed field for testing.

One observed item proves existence in that context, not global availability. One empty location proves nothing about probability. Keep facts narrow enough that another player can reproduce them.

Verification status

Weapon variety and broad loot systems are official. Class and ammunition discovery use current community references. The live client must verify exact roster completeness, names, stats, compatibility, fire modes, capacity, size, source, and availability. Last reviewed September 18, 2026.
