Temporary scenes, not permanent landmarks
The official experience confirms random events. Community references use working names for scenes such as helicopter crashes, military convoys or blockades, camps, supply boats, vehicle collisions, medical scenes, and aircraft incidents. Some names may be community shorthand, and not every event appears in every server.
Record visible scene and role before declaring an official name. Exact location, signal, contents, infected, vehicles, and probability require live observation.
Scene-role lookup
Detect an event
Use visual changes, unusual infected activity, current map/radio signals, vehicle placement, smoke or wreckage, and official event cues where present. The Covert Militia Radio was added during the 2026 Drying update, but its current source and exact signals require live verification.
Do not chase every sound or mark. Compare the cue with terrain and a safe route. If another player is already engaging, observe from cover rather than joining through the most obvious approach.
Approach and exit
Stop before the scene and inspect ridges, roads, buildings, vehicles, infected, and likely player cover. Random events attract players who receive the same cue or follow the same map. Choose two exits and avoid parking directly at the objective.
Enter only when the expected value solves a real need or objective. Clear threats efficiently, keep awareness outside the scene, and avoid opening every container. After obtaining the required item, leave and sort elsewhere.
For supply boats, identify a second landing. For road events, expect movement from both directions. For crash sites, avoid standing silhouetted against wreckage or smoke.
Record loot without odds
Log map, landmark, scene description, event name if verified, signal, infected, vehicles, container families, observed items, event/season state, and date. One scene proves possibility only. Another player may have altered the result before arrival.
Do not publish a complete pool or spawn chance from a few encounters. Use Containers, Special Weapons, and Vehicle Locations for entity-specific records.
Update and seasonal changes
The official 2026 Drying update changed random events, containers, infected, and vehicles. Other seasonal updates can add temporary scenes or themed content. A community map from before those changes may have correct terrain but stale event behavior.
Mark observations current, seasonal, expired, or unverified-after-update. Keep a historical scene in the index without promising it now spawns.
Group roles
Assign one navigator, one event reader/radio observer, and at least one lookout while inventories are open. Share the goal before entering: weapon, vehicle, cosmetic, supplies, or simple verification. Agree on a rally outside the scene.
If contact begins, prioritize cover and group position over finishing the event. A temporary reward does not justify a bad three-sided fight with infected and players.
Verify a community name
Match the visible scene and current UI. Search the newest official changelog for additions or changes. If only community sources use a name, label it community-reported. Avoid converting descriptive names into official lore.
Verification status
Random-event existence and official update changes are confirmed. Scene categories and names are community-maintained working labels. Exact roster, names, cues, positions, loot, infected, vehicles, frequency, and radio behavior require repeated live checks. No guaranteed event or probability is claimed. When no event appears
Do not infer a timer from one quiet server. Confirm that you are on the expected map and that a seasonal variant is not changing the system. Another player may have completed or moved through a scene, and the signal source may be absent. Continue normal survival play or check another current search zone instead of waiting exposed. Record the negative observation with server context, but keep it separate from a natural spawn-rate claim. Several well-documented absences can justify a recheck flag, not a precise probability or declaration that the event was removed.
